SSDMX: Simplified SDMX

SDMX is a recommended standard for exchanging statistical information. However, the system is still too complicated to implement for small organizations and individuals who want to share their data in SDMX format. The objective of SSDMX is to develop a system that allow individuals or small organizations to publish their data in SDMX format without the need of any server infrastructure. SSDMX should make publishing data in SDMX format as simple as making a set of XML files accessible online, while remaining compatible with the SDMX system, so that any SDMX reader will also be able to read and process such data.

The SSDMX data file conforms to the SDMX 2.1 structure specific format (roughly equivalent to the SDMX 2.0 Compact format):

SSDMX data discovery mechanism

The SSDMX data discovery mechanism is much simpler than the standard SDMX registry system.
