There were squirrelmail.org recommended settings in an .htaccess file I created earlier when trying to debug this. Correction: Calendar Preferences is where the shared calendar option is set but
none of the settings for shared calendars are displayed. Also, in calendar
administration one cannot add users or calendars.

By renaming the calendar plugin directory and adding a soft link from calendar
to shared_calendars I now have the shared calendar options at least partially
displaying. There is still no small calendar showing under the folder list,
although this opion shows a being selected. Also none of the small calendar
options beyond yes or no are displayed in the calendar administration page.

copying in the functions from the stable build directory over the existing
installation (after copying both to some safe place).
Now my problem is that I cannot get the shared calendar plugin to work.

I have gotten SM to run under php-8.3. However, following authentication I now
see this in the message pane:
ERROR: Bad or malformed request.

(FLAGS UID RFC822.SIZE INTERNALDATE BODY.PEEK[HEADER.FIELDS (Date To Cc From
Subject X-Priority Importance Priority Content-Type )])
Server responded: Invalid field-name in UID Fetch BODY.PEEK[HEADER.FIELDS
I am also missing the small calendar at the bottom of the folder list but that
may simply be a configuration issue.

I have to upgrade our webmail host to FreeBSd-13.2. This necessitates an
upgrade to php as 7.3 is no longer supported. This in turn requires that
squirrelmail be updated via freebsd's pkg system. The version of squirrelmail
is unknow as the package manager reports: Version : 20230207 and the port
information page provides no details.
The point I am at now is that when I run URL/src/configtest.php I get a blank
page. If I look in the logs I see this:

I noticed if I remove the lines order1=1 to order6=6, I do get the dropdown menu and the Add button back, but the dropdown menu does not show anything other than "Size". And once I add "Size" the menu and Add button vanish. I would like to add "To" to the list. I think there is some limit set on the number of fields that can be displayed and also on what fields can be displayed, and I do not know how to change that. I downloaded the 1.4.23 SVN snapshot, and then installed it. I used the same config.php settings that I used for 1.4.22 and the new version of SquirrelMail works just fine. At least the 'reply function' does. I don't have the time right now to test it fully. I'll try later or tomorrow. I have not yet installed any add-ons, but I don't think that's related to the issue I was experiencing. Thanks for your assistance Paul. I still have a few head slaps to do for just not d/l'ing that new version and trying it before wasting your time. BTW, I am the only user and will most probably keep it that way. Thanks again. |

Squirrelmail - 1.4.22, this is the version that I have installed manually on my shared web host. At this time I only have the Administrator and Compatibility add-ons installed. SquirrelMail - 1.4.19, this is the version that my web host has installed themselves, and also works correctly. I can't stand it though, as I have no control over just about anything, such as themes and CSS, and I can't add any add-ons, I can't even disable or remove any of the few they have installed. This is information that I got from my web hosts' "control panel". Platform Type Debian PHP Version 7.3.2 I got this from a Received: header. Cyrus - 3.9.0 RainLoop/1.17.0, I installed this webmail package and it works fully. BetterBird - 115.5.1-bb19, this is the email client that I use, and it works fine too. These are the browsers I have used. Pale Moon is my primary browser. I refuse to use Edge, Chrome, or FireFox. If the problem is because any of those browsers aren't used, oh well, I'll just have to settle with RainLoop, or my email client. Pale Moon - 32.5.1 Floorp - 11.6.1 Mercury - 115.2.0esr Vivaldi - 6.2.3105.47 I used to have a working copy of Squirrelmail that I installed myself in 2006. I used and successfully upgraded it when necessary for 5 years or so. Unfortunately for me now, I have deleted all the related directories. I also loaded the configtest.php page, and it did not report any errors. I have the variable $max_token_age_days set to 5 and it is in the config_local.php file. The mail server settings that I used are the same as the ones in the working copy of RainLoop and the email client.
