-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello all, Environment: SquirrelMail 1.4.3a with Apache 2.0.48 PHP 4.3.4 with Binc Imap 1.2.8final (all built from source) on a Debian Woody. I have a setup where my INBOX, Drafts, Trash, and Sent folders are on the same level. Furthermore, my INBOX has several subfolders: Drafts + INBOX - ----Family - ----Work Sent Trash (The plus denotes that the folder contains subfolders, the four dashes that the folder is on a lower level.) However, the SquirrelMail folder pane shows the INBOX first, then Drafts, then the subfolders of INBOX, and then Sent and Trash: INBOX Drafts - ----Family - ----Work Sent Trash There's no plus sign next to INBOX, but the subfolders do appear indented. I disabled "Show Special Folders First" in conf.pl. Before I did that, the layout was INBOX, Drafts, Sent, Trash, and then the subfolders. It appears to me that the problem is caused by SquirrelMail's desire to display INBOX first and then the rest ordered alphabetically. However, I believe the subfolders should appear directly underneath their parent (note that if we rearrange the list so INBOX is in the alphabetically right place, the subfolders would also be placed correctly: Drafts, INBOX, subfolders, Sent, Trash.) SquirrelMail is aware of the right folder structure; in the "Move Selected To" list I can choose "INBOX, Drafts, INBOX/Family, INBOX/Work, Sent, and Trash (in that order). Here it would also in my opinion be intuitively better to have the INBOX followed by its subfolders and not split up like this. That leaves two possibilities: a layout that's strictly alphabetical: Drafts, INBOX, subfolders of INBOX, Sent, Trash. And a layout with INBOX first: INBOX, subfolders of INBOX, Drafts, Sent, Trash. Putting other top-level folders in between INBOX and its subfolders doesn't make sense. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I tried looking at the source, but I'm not really into PHP so I didn't get any wiser.
