Do you mean go into search.php (and related functions) and change the code related to CHARSET? Do you know which variable(s) to look for? I am new to PHP, but willing to do some tinkering. Also, could this CHARSET issue be related the other error I am getting or is another option being ignored (in read_body.php)?: ERROR : Could not complete request.
