I know the Web site says 4.0.6, but a later version is required. Try configuring from scratch. Tedious I know, but a fair amount changed. > i also saw that there are some discussions about cookies we shoudl find when connected but on my pc i couldn't find one from the mailserver. i checked my security setting of the webbrowser but it allows all cookies so the problem shouldn't be there. > > after that i tried to connect to the imap server by command line (see below) and it worked perfectly. so i think that the username and password are correct (im 100% sure). unfortunately i can't find a log file where i could get more information. Is there one ? > Probably not. One of the complaints about the Courier packages is the almost non-existant logging. I have a similar setup, SuSE Linux (7.1 and later 8.2 beta3), Courier IMAP (Postfix for MTA). I saw the same problem until I upgraded PHP to 4.2 or 4.3. Note: the very latest 4.3.2, IIRC, is not recommended. HTH, Jeffrey |
