PEAR is a PHP extension that allows access to a variety of databases
from a single class. From the sounds of it, you downloaded the
installation program. Last time I did a windows install, the
installation program didn't include PEAR. If you download the zip
file, it contains all the files. You can simple extract that over the
top of your php4 directory, and restart apache. All should start
working then.
