[SM-PLUGINS] folders names

is it possible to write a plugin that shows folders name in spanish (or the
selected language)? not just inbox, but trash, drafts, etc.

i have done this modifying src/left_main.php (and adding the folder
names to the locale files) 
at line 437 i wrote changed "$boxes->mailboxname_sub" for
"_($boxes->mailboxname_sub)"

but i wonder if it is possible to write a plugin that does this.
