[SM-PLUGINS] change ldap password

Hello,
    I've got a RedHat 8 with squirrelmail 1.4.2
    I'm trying to install, a change_ldap password v.1.7 , because i need
support for SHA passwords.
    I've run Openldap 2.0.25, and Qmail ldap 1.03, with the 20040103 ldap
patch.

    The question is that plugin , don't work for me : if the password is
clear, an attempt to change the password, returns an "unsuccessful password
change", and if is in SHA format, i've collect some errors :
1) you need php 4.3.x
2) unknown function ldap_connect()

	The error 2 , has begin, after a failed update of my php installation.
	The error 1, appears, when my php installation was the default that comes
with red hat 8

	I've reinstalled the php-ldap-4.2.2-8.0.5 patch without success, i've still
see the error number 2

	has anybody some idea, for help me?
