Recently, our Stable and Development teams each had a leader step down to spend more time on coding and for personal time. Jason Munro and Paul Joseph Thompson put in a lot of time and energy over the past months into their respective roles of Stable and Development team leads, and their effort is well appreciated. The idea of having two people share leadership of our dev groups is a good one, and helps to ensure that no one person gets burned out by taking on too much. In this spirit then, the natural choices to lead these groups going forward is very clear, and has been suggetsed to me by a number of team members. The new team leads for the Stable Team will be Jonathan Angliss and Thijs Kinkhorst. Both Jonathan and Thijs have spent many hours working on the stable tree, both in fixing bugs as well as helping users daily on the mailing lists. They have been working together on Stable for some time, and will do a great job going forward as the leads of that team. Welcome, Stable Team Leaders, Jonathan and Thijs! The new team leads for the Development Team will be Erin Schnabel and Marc Groot Voorkamp. Erin and Marc have been spearheading the recent discussions on rearchitecture of the devel code. Both are experienced developers who have given a great deal to the project, and I am confident will continue to do so as leads of the Development Team. Welcome, Development Team Leaders, Erin and Marc! All four of our new team leads are very available by email or IRC if you've got questions, suggestions, or congratulations for them, so don't hesitate to give them your input! -Rick SquirrelMail Project Lead, aka "Head Nut" |
