Barging in here... Wouldn't this be a good time to sprinkle some NAME and ID tags around the source so CSS authors get some finer control? As it stands, it's pretty hard to change the look much without hacking the code. It seems like adding more CSS hooks would be a quick, low budget way to give admins more control.
