Philippe is correct, here. As a part of Zookeeper (and thus SM 2), we will be designing a Preferences Service that will have various backend modules built for it. Among these will first and foremost be versions to store preferences in a database and in flat files, as we currently do. Other options could be XML files, or whatever else someone dreams up. Of course, this is all Zookeeper design stuff, but...just for those who may not have heard already, Zookeeper will do prefs in the following manner. There will be a frontend (Service) API that Squirrelmail will hook into to do all it's preferences work. It will contain all the functions like getPref and savePref (or whatever they get named). Then there will be a backend (Module) API that must be implemented by backend modules to store/access the data in various locations. Now, if we can just get Squirrelmail 1.2 out the door, such things will become our main focus here. Won't THAT be fun... :) -- Paul Joseph Thompson cap...@sq...
