Hello. I would request that all .xml (eg.: SQLDrivers.xml for drivers) configuration files accept relative path. The application would import the SQLDrivers.xml and understand system variables like %SQUIRREL_SQL_HOME% and %USERPROFILE% to render the full path.

This would help the use the application as a full portable one.

Can't this be done by using parameter --user-settings-dir ?
For example add the following to command line "SET TMP_PARMS ..." in your squirrel-sql.bat:

    --user-settings-dir ".\conf"

That worked for me to have SQLDrivers.xml etc. saved in subdirectory "conf".

It's not about this I'm talking. The location of .xml is not a problem for me. The big problem is the paths inside the .xml file. These paths are absolute paths instead relative paths. Not dynamic.

Can you get what I meant now? Please, check the image appended. It's taken from SQLDrivers.xml file. Watch the paths for the drivers plugins.

    Sorry, this won't be implemented.

For SQLDrivers.xml a workaround may be to put driver jars on SQuirreL's default class path for example by copying them into SQuirreL's lib folder.
Be aware that this raises problems when different versions of the same driver are used.
