DB2 error - SQLSTATE=HY010
A Java SQL client for any JDBC compliant database
Brought to you by:
colbell,
gerdwagner
I am receiving an error each time I execute a query that does not return any result.
This prevent me from doing multiple command in the same execution like Create table, create index, insert into table.
The database behind is DB2.
The error is:
Error: [IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0125E Function Sequence Error. SQLSTATE=HY010
SQLState: HY010
ErrorCode: -99999

Hmmm... no exception stack trace in the log. Could you set the following line in log4j.properties :
log4j.rootLogger=info, SquirrelAppender
to
log4j.rootLogger=debug, SquirrelAppender
restart and try the same sequence of SQL statements that you did previously. Then check to see if there are any stack traces in the log file (near the bottom)
Thanks,
Rob

I've been trying to duplicate the problem to no avail. The section of code that the problem is occurring in is a bit complex as it is designed to work with different databases.
What would be really helpful to me at this point would be a small script that reproduces the problem and to know what are the version(s) of the database and JDBC driver that you
are using. If I can reproduce it, then I'll have a chance to step through the code with a debugger to see what is happening.

The two relevant parameters that I see that I expected to be false in you case are:
supportsMultipleOpenResults <Non Supporté>
getResultSetHoldability <Non Supporté>
When you access the alias driver properties table, are there any items in that table that are similar to the two entries I've list above?
Also, can you provide a script with multiple statements that reproduce the problem?

I'm joining a test.sql file for you to see an example of crashing commands.
As for the "alias driver properties table"... this goes beyond my knowledge.
Could you explain me more in details what it means?

Oh sure - sorry about that. You can open the Alias properties dialog by right-clicking the alias entry in the aliases table and choose "Alias Properties".
Then click on the "Driver Properties" tab and you should see a table with property names. If you select the checkbox for "Use driver properties" then you
can edit that table to include custom values for whatever driver properties the driver supports. If the driver doesn't support any driver properties then
this table would be empty. Does yours have entries and if so do any of them look like they control MultipleOpenResults or ResultSetHoldability ?
I'll give the script a try. Thanks!

And, of course, the script executes without error for me on my Linux v9 universal db2 :) The sequence of calls being made to the driver in your case is:
Statement.execute()
Statement.getUpdateCount()
Statement.getResultSet
Statement.getMoreResults()
Statement.getUpdateCount()
I believe it is the second getUpdateCount that yields the exception - based on your earlier stack trace. It's hard to be sure, since there is no
debug output from this section of code (SQLExecuterTask.processQuery). I could look into this further if I pepper this section of code with debug
statements and make a snapshot available for you if you wanted to give that a try and report back with the debug statements. Beyond that, if there
are driver properties to be set, that would be the next thing to try. Without knowing what code exactly is being executed when the problem occurs,
it would be very difficult to provide a fix, other than just catching the exception and logging an error. The current code is tricky because it
attempts to be compatible with all databases, even though not all databases support multiple resultsets and those that do seem to diverge a bit on
exactly how it is done.

Ok great!
Just let me know the version of the snapshot to download and I'll feed you up with the log result.

About the driver properties, I have a password and user property. Nothing else.
When I check the boxe to use the properties, the password becomes enabled.
I hope it helps...

Ok, I'll let you know when/where to get the snapshot installer.
Those are the same driver properties that I have. I've read that other properties are available (especially on platforms other than LUW).
Can you verify that the driver that you are using is the same as the one that was shipped with the DB2 software that was used to install
the server that you are using? (Recently I've noticed a number of bug reports for problems caused by using a driver that was newer (or different) than
the fixpak installed on the database server.)

You should use the combination of db2 jcc jar as well it license . in the class path . this works for me ^lease note as well
as far as i saw the net app ( jdbc) will be depricated .
the db2jcc drivers can be downloaded at the ibm site ( fixpack , db2level +- 1 tranperent.
hope this will help you
thank you Rob
