Sometimes, after executing a query, SQuirrel logs an error and the keyboard stops working. No matter which key I type in which input text area of Squirrel, it does not update the text.
This happens more often if I work with the result table, after executing a query (make a row editable and edit this value, for example).
When this bug happens, if i keep pressing press ESC and open/close the Log Entry some times, the keyboard, generaly, comes back to normal.
The mouse works fine.

I've noticed similar problems when using SQuirreL with Java 6. Seems to be much better behaved in Java 5.

I did this morning more accurate tests to provide more info on this bug.
I just opened my application and the keyboard not worked (generally it
does not happens when I start Squirrel). Any key I type on the pop up
window, on the sql panel, or in any other input text on SQuirrel, just
don't shows up or works.
I then clicked once on the window log entry and the window last log
entry and closed them both with my mouse. Keyboard now works.
I typed 6 small select querys and all them worked fine. I mistype once
in a while some parts of the sql just to be sure, again, no problems.
Now I got one of these querys, rerun and made rows editable. I changed
the value of one varchar cell and one int cell. Again, no problem. Now
I double clicked on the cell to show the pop up window, changed the
value and update it. When i came back to SQL edit window, keyboard
stoped working...
SQuirrel camed back to normal when I opened and closed SQuirrel logs
and last log entry window twice.
I searched the log for some clues on the problem. No help full log
entry was found... (that means the log entry I sent u is not related
to this bug..., sorry).
I gave a 15 minutes break. When back, keyboard stoped working... I
then got to the alias window and opened a new connection: keyboard
back (on both the new and old window). I clicked to close my first
connected window and answer no if i wanted to close the session.
Keyboard stoped. This time I opened and closed the logs windows about
10 times and the problem was not solved. I opened a new connection and
now keyboard is back.
I just could not get to a conclusive pattern on the behaviour of this
bug. What i can say is:
1) If I double click on any editable cell and update this value, when
I close the update window, keyboard always stops working.
2) If I open a new connection from alias window, keyboard is back to normal.
3) If I keep opening and closing log entry and last log entry,
keyboard, generally, comes back to normal.
4) On any event related to window opening, generaly, keyboard stops working.
The database I'm using is SQL Server 2000 (JTDS Microsoft SQL). Haven't tested with other database.
As I saw, the problem is not related to a create table script. In all
these tests I just did simple select querys.
I'm absolutely sure the problem is not with my keyboard. SQuirrel, as
far as I know, is the only application that shows this bug behavior on
the Linux I'm using.
I will try here if I can reproduce this bug on other machines. Will
let u know if I make any progress.
Hope it helped.
Anything else, please contact me.
And congratulations on the development of SQuirrel! :)
Grats,
Sérgio Moreira.
