I UNselected "Auto Commit SQL" on the "SQL" tab of "New
Session Properties", closed my old session, and started
a new one. Now if I select a table name in the Objects
view to see its properties, the properties window
remains blank and this error is written to the log:

275120 [Thread-2] ERROR

-
com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybSQLException: The 'CREATE
TABLE' command is not allowed within a multi-statement

Does this still occur in SQuirreL .23final?

This is a problem with the JDBC driver. Certain metadata
driver calls run DDL in thetemp dataabse which causes this
problem. Is there a more up to date version of the driver?

If a later version of the driver doesn't fix the issue you
    could try the following:

Right click on the alis and take "Alias properties". Click
on the Properties button, then click on the 'driver
properties' tab. Activate the "use driver properties"
checkbox. Click on the checkbox USE_METADATA and change
its value to false. Press OK

If that doesn't work then try:

Right click on the alis and take "Alias properties". Click
on the Properties button, then click on the 'driver
properties' tab. Activate the "use driver properties"
checkbox. Click on the checkbox 'SQLInitString' and change
its value to "set chained off". Press OK
