Hi,

I'm a long time SQirreL user, I really like it.
I'm using the latest SQirreL (4.2.0) via brew on MacOS (Big Sur, 11.4 (20F71)), since the upgrade from Mojave to Big Sur, I need to grant permission to certain folders in my home, eg. Documents, Desktop... for drivers, workspace, etc....

I was trying everything to get SquirrelSQL accessing eg. the Documents folder, but it doesn't seem like anything helps. I've added /usr/bin/java, the /Applications/SQuirreLSQL.app and all the binaries in /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/adoptopenjdk-16.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/ to Full Disk Access list, no difference. I imagine you need to change something on the OS side to request this access.

It runs like this:

/usr/bin/java -cp /Applications/SQuirreLSQL.app/Contents/MacOS/../Resources/Java/squirrel-sql.jar:/Applications/SQuirreLSQL.app/Contents/MacOS/../Resources/Java/lib/* -Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=true -Dcom.apple.mrj.application.apple.menu.about.name=SQuirreLSQL -Dapple.awt.application.name=SQuirreLSQL -splash:/Applications/SQuirreLSQL.app/Contents/MacOS/icons/splash.jpg net.sourceforge.squirrel_sql.client.Main --log-config-file /Applications/SQuirreLSQL.app/Contents/MacOS/log4j.properties --squirrel-home /Applications/SQuirreLSQL.app/Contents/MacOS --native-laf

Please fix it, thank you!

Sorry I can't reproduce your problem on my Big Sur 11.1 using SQuirreL's Mac OS installer.

With SQuirreL's Mac OS installer SQuirreL is installed to /Applications/SQuirreLSQL.app/ and the user directory is /Users/<username>/.squirrel-sql.
With this installation your command line works alright if you put "" around the -cp parameter.</username>

If SQuirreL's Mac OS installer works the same way for you, you should contact Brew.

Can you please try on MacOS (Big Sur, 11.4 (20F71)) too?

Same problem here. SquirrelSQL 4.4.0, Temurin Java 1.8, and MacOS Monterrey 12.3.1

I installed using the official Java installer from the SquirrelSQL website, and when I try to navigate in the file selections, only folders show up, but no files.

Note: Since version 4.3.0 SQuirreL requires at least Java 11.
