If you're using PHP -> Pear DB -> MySQL now and want to convert it to PHP -> Pear DB -> SQL Relay -> MySQL, then you shouldn't have to change anything but the connection parameters. However, if you're also switching out the back end database, then you'll probably have to rewrite some of your queries as different databases support slightly different SQL commands. Some people have recently reported some PHP Pear DB bugs that have been fixed since the 0.36.4 release and will be available in the upcoming 0.37 release. Only a few people have run into them though, so it's not all that likely that you will. If you do find something that doesn't work though, let me know and I'll get you a patch.
