When using uppercase names e.g. class sqlmeta: table = 'MYTABLE' The tableExists query becomes: SELECT COUNT(relname) FROM pg_class WHERE relname = 'MYTABLE' This fails to find the table as the table names stored within pg_class are all lower case.
