Bob, yes you identified reasonable fixes. There are other known problems with
the Cache from 0.3, be warned...

The short answer is that 0.3 is horribly out of date, it's time to get cracking
on another public release. CVS is relatively stable right now, if you aren't
putting this immediately into production.
