#1323: Enhance performance to C-like levels ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Reporter: guest | Owner: zzzeek Type: enhancement | Status: reopened Priority: medium | Milestone: blue sky Component: engine | Severity: very major - up to 2 days Resolution: | Keywords: Status_field: needs a volunteer | ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Comment (by guest): It seems it's just bytecode interpretation and method dispatch overhead, yes. Perhaps not all of the said classes have to be reimplemented in C, only the critical methods? The rest can remain implemented in Python in a derived class.
