This should be a quick one: In what account do I put the corporate income taxes that the company pays? It would not be correct to put it in 5510 - Inc Tax Exp - Federal, right? (That's where employee Social Security and Medicare taxes get taken out of.) Should I just make a new account, such as 5570 - Corporate Income Tax - Federal? Just change the current invoice number to the last one you want in the System->Default screen. For example if you want the invoice number to start with 1000, put 999 in the 'Sales Invoice/AR Transaction Number' on defaults screen. Regards --- Purpose built SQL-Ledger Hosting. Hi, The automated invoice number are not "sync" with my real invoice number. I've found this old post regarding the automated invoice number: http://www.freelists.org/archives/sql-ledger-users/07-2003/msg00025.html I'd like to know what's the status now of this problem, is there any quick fix available to "sync" the invoice number ? In my case I just need to increase it. Thanks a lot, Adrien -- Adrien Laurent (514) 284-2020 x 202 http://www.modulis-groupe.com |

Yes, I have a USD account where I did as you suggested. And there are (not so little) shadow transactions generated to pull the balance down to the correct number in EUR. This is using addition and subtraction to get the account balance to read in EUR; ------------------------------- I don't think I am expecting a miracle though. Just a multiplication between numbers that are already in the system: The transactions are in EUR and are dated. The conversion factor (exchange rate) is in the system and is set up to cover date ranges. The popup on the Balance Sheet request form is asking which currency you would like to have the form displayed in. (This is the only possible use for this popup item) And then - the report is generated in EUR. And - there is no indication on the report (label) that the report had been requested in USD. Why have the popup in the Balance Sheet request form if not to generate the form in that currency? I think you are waiting for a spontaneous conversion miracle? You tell the system to use EUR. You enter data, in EUR, and now want to know how much USD transactions are in the system? The primary currency is, as you said, EUR. Here is the lowdown: Open a new test firm. Enter some transactions in USD. Do not enter anything else. Check rate (iirc about70 eurocents per dollar at the moment). Get report, and see if it shows about 0.70 of the USD amounts you just entered. hth paul 2007/10/8, Bob Gustafson <bo...@rc...>: > > I have EUR as my first defined currency. > > 99% of the transactions are in EUR and no exchange rate is given with > the transaction > > I have entered exchange rates to cover the period of the reports in the > Exchange Rates menu (correctly?) > > When I display my Income Statement, I select USD and expect to see my > Income Statement displayed (and labeled) in USD. I have EUR as my first defined currency. 99% of the transactions are in EUR and no exchange rate is given with the transaction I have entered exchange rates to cover the period of the reports in the Exchange Rates menu (correctly?) When I display my Income Statement, I select USD and expect to see my Income Statement displayed (and labeled) in USD. It is not. The numbers are the same as when I select EUR and the same date periods. Am I expecting too much? Bob G |

Hi, I've been running 2.6.19 for a long time and I was very happy with it. I've just tried to upgrade to 2.8.8 I ran upgrade with setup.pl from the root of sql-ledger Upgrade seemed fine except that I got this warning during the process: chown: invalid option -- s Then, I went to the web page and I had the following error message: --------------------------------------------------- Upgrading to Version 2.8.8 ... Error! drop trigger del_recurring ON oe ERROR: trigger "del_recurring" for table "oe" does not exist --------------------------------------------------- I've refreshed the page and it says now: Login disabled! Anyone ever gotten a "Print-Job client-error-not-authorized" error in CUPS before? Everything was working fine on our Fedora 4 box, running SQL-Ledger 2.6.27, and cups 1.2.x and all of a sudden I started getting these messages. If I do a File, Print from SQL-Ledger (or any app) I can print to cups just fine. But when I use the print button (which calls lpr) I get the client-error-not-authorized message. I'm now running cups 1.3.3, but that hasn't helped. Any help is truly appreciated. As long as you do not need to be at two place at the same time, I would say granting remote access to the machine with the SQL-Ledger and then log in two or even X times would be no problem, as long as the web-server can handle it. Apache is quite robust, so no sweat I guess. Logging in from two different machines as two different users should also not be a problem, although maybe some tables would be locked if the two people are trying to enter the same type of transactions from 2 places at once. Or maybe I do not understand the problem / question correct.. 2007/10/4, dasDasein <da...@da...>: > > Is it possible to run multiple installations of sql-ledger on different > machines, each connecting to a single (the same) postgresql dataset on a > server via ssh? Is it possible to run multiple installations of sql-ledger on different machines, each connecting to a single (the same) postgresql dataset on a server via ssh? I would like to run sql-remotely on multiple machines connected to a database using ssh without requiring an https connection. If so, how does once setup the same user account on the multiple sql-ledger installations? |

Does the current version of the SQL-Ledger manual document the Import Payments function (as seen in 2.8.8 onwards). Our first year has expired, and as we'd like to use the Import function I'd like to obtain some documentation for it (ie what format does the CSV file have to be in? What is the map file and what should it look like?). If this is covered in the manual then we'll be more than happy to pay for another year. -- C. |

To reconcile bank balances with the number given by the bank, the function: Cash -> Reconciliation Is very useful. It could be made more useful if one could store the date and balance numbers given by the banks, so this reconciliation could be easier to do, and perhaps more automatic. I wonder if anyone has a good procedure for doing this? Bob G |

My guess is that you have not yet created some of the tables. Have you skipped a step in the new user list? I had this same error a couple of days ago. The reason was that I had dumped all my data and then did a DROP DATABASE "sql-ledger"; CREATE DATABASE "sql-ledger"; on another machine in preparation to load the dumped data. I was interrupted and forgot to do the load. When I next logged in, I got the error you noted. The database sql-ledger was there, but it was empty. Hello, I am using SL 2.8.4, openSUSE 10.1, trying to print a credit invoice without sucess: DBD::Pg::st execute failed: ERROR: invalid input syntax for integer: "customer_id" Error! Assertion i == (((((SV *) (name_av))->sv_flags & 0x00008000)) ?
