Hi Mark,
Thanks for reporting - there is indeed a problem with spring-core.jar in
2.5.3. A typo sneaked in and rendered the manifest useless.
The problem is fixed in HEAD.
There are several workarounds:
* use the big spring.jar instead of spring-core.jar
* keep using 2.5.2...
* use the upcoming nightly build from
http://static.springframework.org/downloads/nightly/snapshot-download.php?project=SPR
