I've searched the last couple months of the developer and user mailing lists. I've went through most of the www.springframework.org web site. I've looked a little bit at the confluence wiki site. But I'm not seeing a release roadmap anyplace. The most I see is the announcement of 1.1.5 release on the main website and a similar (1.1.5) announcement in the mailing lists. I've seen some partial mentions of hibernate3 and JMX in 1.2 in some mail list message, but nothing in a concreate "Here's what we're targetting for 1.2" message. Actually, there is no public road map available except the JIRA road map... We've been thinking about reorganizing springframework.org lately, which would include a road map page, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Concretely, Spring 1.2 will include the following major new features: * Hibernate3 support * JMX support * full support for WebLogic's JTA extensions * JDK 1.5 transaction annotations * reorganization of distribution jar files ... and some minor refinements in various areas. Further candidates include JCA CCI support, TopLink support and others, but these are not definitive for the 1.2 timeframe yet (partly because of circumstances outside our control). Hibernate3 support, JMX support and WebLogicJtaTransactionManager are already available in the nightly 1.2-dev snapshots and are considered stable. 1.2 RC1 is currently scheduled for early next week, with 1.2 final supposed to follow in mid April. Yes, scripting won't make 1.2; this has been decided quite a while ago already. We want 1.2 to be out and stable ASAP, in particular with Hibernate3 support and JMX support. BTW, 1.3 is planned to follow up pretty quickly, probably with 1.3 RC1 right before JavaOne. So major features dropped from 1.2 have a good chance of going in there. The best way to ensure that scripting makes 1.3 is to get plenty of feedback on it. I will try to prioritize it if there's clearly strong demand, and usage experience that shows it's solid and usable. Peter, There are still some issues we need to iron out with the JMS stuff - what is there is usable to a degree, but we haven't really tested certain cases and I think there are a few corner cases yet to be explored.
