hi everybody:
I'm a newer of java and spring. when I study to use spring and
quartz integration to store schedule to database, I found that
"org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.JobDetailBean" will throw
java.io.NotSerializable exception, note that I have takecare
applicationContextJobDataKey (I didn't set this value).
Dose JobDetailBean must implement ApplicationContextAware?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As a repair, I create new class to instead old one:
import org.springframework.context.ApplicationContext;
public class JobDetailBean extends
org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.JobDetailBean {
public void setApplicationContext(ApplicationContext applicationContext) {
super.setApplicationContext(null);
//this.applicationContext = applicationContext;
}
}
and use this one, the exception was gone, is this a bug?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
exception:
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error
creating bean with name 'scheduler' defined in class path resource
[conf/context-scheduled.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested
exception is org.quartz.JobPersistenceException: Couldn't store

Dear Spring community,
I'm pleased to announce that the Spring Framework 2.5 final release is
available! Spring 2.5 enhances Spring 2.0 with many new features, such as:
* full Java 6 and Java EE 5 support (JDBC 4.0, JTA 1.1, JavaMail 1.4, JAX-WS
2.0, etc)
* full-featured annotation-driven dependency injection (including support
for 'qualifiers')
* support for component scanning in the classpath (autodetecting annotated
classes)
* bean name pointcut element in AspectJ pointcut expressions
* built-in support for for AspectJ load-time weaving (based on the
LoadTimeWeaver abstraction)
* further XML configuration namespaces ("context", "jms") for maximum
convenience
* completely revised framework for integration tests (with support for JUnit
4 and TestNG)
* new annotation-based controller style for Servlet MVC and Portlet MVC
* extended SimpleJdbcTemplate functionality (support for named parameters
etc)
* officially certified WebSphere support (support for the WebSphere 6
UOWManager facility)
* Spring framework jars are shipped as OSGi-compliant bundles out of the box
* Spring ApplicationContext can be deployed as JCA RAR file (for headless
application modules)
* JCA 1.5 message endpoint management (for Spring-managed JMS and CCI
message listeners)
We recommend upgrading to Spring 2.5 from all previous 2.0.x versions, in
order to benefit from the new features as well as from the significant
performance enhancements that Spring 2.5 has to offer. Spring 2.5 is
designed as a drop-in replacement for Spring 2.0, except for the slightly
restructured jar file contents (see the readme file in the distribution).
Note that Spring 2.5 is still compatible with JDK 1.4.2+ and J2EE 1.3+. Java
1.4 users, for example on WebLogic 8.1 or WebSphere 5.1/6.0, are very
welcome to upgrade to Spring 2.5 as well! We recommend putting the
backport-util-concurrent jar on the classpath when running on Java 1.4,
which allows Spring (and hence your applications) to benefit from
significant concurrency enhancements.
Cheers,
Juergen

Midas News Hemisphere announces it has found gold amid the highest priced gold market since 1980. Hemisphere Gold Inc (HPGI) $1.14 "Bullish gold," said Zachary Oxman, a senior trader at Wisdom Financial. "I think the Fed had a choice, housing or inflation, and they chose housing. As such, you've got inflationary pressures running rampant despite what the government tells us.... I'd peg real inflation at over 6% and I think that will continue to put pressure on the dollar and increase gold and crude prices," the gold market continues to flourish in the current economic turmoil. More investors are turning to gold for stability in there investment dollars. Amid this rising gold market exploration for new gold deposits are on the rise. Hemisphere Gold Inc. has been fronting the market with continued releases on their gold findings in the new Gold Belt of South America. This not the time to take your time. Hemisphere is launching a full scale marketing campaign to investors next week concerning the gold found in Suriname and the potential this company has in offering mining assets upwards of $800 million. Early investors will get ahead of this release and maximize their returns. |

November Update Gold breaks $800 and ounce as American Dollar declines. Hemisphere Gold (HPGI) $1.00 Gold prices are soaring as investors are seeking safe havens from the spiraling US Dollar. With gold prices up over $200 to $812/ounce demands for gold are increasing. Cutting edge technology has opened the way for advanced exploration of new areas. Recent findings of huge deposits in Suriname have created a literal gold rush. Hemisphere Gold Inc has recently announced findings of rich gold deposits in Suriname. This is on their 720 sq mile property right in the middle of the largest gold mines in the Suriname gold belt. 5 Things You Should Consider 1. Gold is on a steady rise since January of this year. 2. The Asian demand for gold has been increasing exponentially in their high growth economy, yet the market is not able to meet the demand. 3. Share prices have been strong through out the year and recent news has increased share values by over 110%. 4. Over 50 Million ounces of Gold has been extracted from the Guiana Shield. Hemisphere's property is surrounded by gold producing mines and advanced stage exploration projects. 5. After over 6000 samplings results continue to be very promising. In the event of a strike, investors who go in early stand to see massive returns. Gold is certainly becoming the hot investment in such a turbulent market. HPGI has the potential to provide a safe haven and hefty returns for early investors. Take the time to read over their website and review the recent news releases and profiles from “Stockguru”. It may be your best investment this year. |

I'm assuming Maven artifacts will be uploaded shortly? http://s3.amazonaws.com/maven.springframework.org/milestone It might be helpful to write up some sort of upgrade guide (from 2.0 to 2.5) for Maven users. With 2.0, we were able to use the uber spring.jar, but this doesn't seem to work for 2.5. Specifically, if were were using Spring + Spring MVC (powered by spring.jar) in 2.0, you now have to include spring-webmvc in your dependencies. Since this artifact is dependent on fine-grained JARs, you have to either 1) exclude all the fine-grained dependencies from spring-webmvc or 2) start using all the fine-grained JARs instead of the uber JAR. #2 is recommended by the Maven folks, but this release seems to have forced the issue a bit more. I've wrote up my migration experience on my blog: http://raibledesigns.com/rd/entry/upgrading_appfuse_to_spring_2 Thanks, Matt On Nov 12, 2007 10:17 AM, Juergen Hoeller <jue...@in...> wrote: > > > > > Dear Spring community, > > > > I'm pleased to announce that Spring Framework 2.5 RC2 has been released! > This is the second release candidate for Spring 2.5, introducing various > feature refinements, performance improvements as well as fixes for bugs that > have been reported against RC1. > > > > The 2.5 RC2 release is now available from SourceForge: > > > > http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=73357&package_id=173644 > > > > The 2.5 final release is scheduled for November 19th. Dear Spring community, I'm pleased to announce that Spring Framework 2.5 RC2 has been released! This is the second release candidate for Spring 2.5, introducing various feature refinements, performance improvements as well as fixes for bugs that have been reported against RC1. The 2.5 RC2 release is now available from SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=73357 <http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=73357&package_id=1736 44> &package_id=173644 The 2.5 final release is scheduled for November 19th. Please test RC2 in your applications and let us know about potential regressions or conflicts with third-party software. We'll do our best to address such issues in time for the final release. For a general overview of Spring 2.5, see the following articles: http://blog.interface21.com/main/2007/10/24/spring-25-rc1-is-here-introducin g-new-configuration-approaches/ http://www.theserverside.com/tt/articles/article.tss?l=IntrotoSpring25 FYI, a 2.0.8 maintenance release is scheduled for December, backporting various fixes from the 2.5 branch. 2.0.8 candidate snapshots are already available, waiting for you to give them a test drive in your Spring 2.0.x based applications: http://static.springframework.org/downloads/nightly/snapshot-download.php?pr oject=SPR Cheers, Juergen ----- Juergen Hoeller Interface21 http://www.interface21.com <http://www.interface21.com/> |

Hello all,
I've come across a situation a few times where I need a 'lazy hierarchy' of beans. I.E. if a lazy bean isn't initialized, many other beans that reference it shouldn't be loaded either.
An example:
<!-- this is implementation 1 and beans that depend on it -->
<bean id="option1" class="option1" lazy-init="true"/>
<bean id="dependOption1" class="dependOption1">
<property name="blah" ref="option1"/>
</bean>
<!-- this is implementation 2 and beans that depend on it -->
<bean id="option2" class="option2" lazy-init="true"/>
<bean id="dependOption2" class="dependOption2">
<property name="blah" ref="option2"/>
</bean>
<!-- The preferred implementation is determined by property file -->
<bean id="needOptionImpl" class="needOptionImpl">
<property name="optionImpl" ref="${propfile.optionImpl}"/>
</bean>
If propfile.optionImpl=option1, I'd like 'option1' and 'dependOption1' loaded. I wouldn't want 'option2' and 'dependOption2' loaded. Unfortunately, because 'dependOption2' isn't lazy and depends on 'option2' it will be loaded as well even though it is lazy. Having to make 'dependOption2' lazy and setup an artificial dependency to control if it's loaded or not isn't an elegant solution. I'm sure there are better approaches, but my initial thought is something like this:
<bean id="dependOption2" class="dependOption2">
<property name="blah" ref="option2" lazy-ref="X"/>
</bean>
Where X is one of:
A) false. This is a regular reference and causes any referenced lazy-init bean to init. If lazy-ref is omitted, false is the default.
B) true. The reference doesn't cause the referenced lazy-init bean to init. If the referenced bean isn't initialized the property setter is not called. If in a constructor this parameter is null.
C) dependent. The reference doesn't cause the referenced lazy-init bean to init. If the referenced bean isn't initialized, this bean isn't initialized either. If a bean has multiple properties/constructor args that are lazy-ref="dependent" the bean is only initialized if ALL the lazy-ref="dependent" beans it references are initialized.
This will allow much finer control over bean initialization and allow an entire hierarchy of beans to be initialized (or not) if the 'root bean' is referenced.
What do you think? Is this possible?
Rob
