I don't think those connectors are JSR-160 compliant, because JSR-160 uses the MBeanServerConnection interface from JMX 1.2. I hadn't heard of MockStrutsTestCase before. After some digging, I think it would work with the CactusStrutsTestCase, but may take a bit of subclassing to make it work with the MockStrutsTestCase. =20 For the MockStutsTestCase to work, I think there would need to be a subclass (SpringMockStrutsTestCase) that would create the parent WebApplicationContext in setup before the ContextLoaderPlugin is initialized (by super.setup()). This could be similar to the BaseSpringTestCases where there is an abstract getConfigLocations method that would be used to build the parent context...then throw it into the ServletContext where the ContextLoaderPlugin will pick it up. I didn't look at the code in the Jira issue, but given that Spring already includes a couple of mechanisms to integrate with Struts, I'm not so sure that this shouldn't also be together with the existing code (and thus a part of Spring) if it's a pretty nice approach. It doesn't seem to make sense for us to ship a cuple of variants, but people have to go elsewhere for another one, especially if the other one is preferable... I have another contribution to Spring/Struts integration I will be making this weekend. It basically allows you to easily use a MessageSource in Struts instead of Struts' internationalization features. I would think this makes sense for inclusion in the org.springframework.web.struts package, just like these request processors. Is the entire package going to become a module? That does look very useful. Can I suggest that we put this in the Spring Modules project (which is still getting started) so that we don't end up adding more stuff to the core. Spring Modules is hosted at http://springmodules.dev.java.net. There is no code there yet, but there will be quite a few modules in time for Spring 1.2 and we may reorganise the core a little. This looks like a *very* useful addition. It's similar to WebWork's ActionAutowiringInterceptor and definitely makes configuration easier (a good thing IMO). My only question is whether it works in conjunction with MockStrutsTestCase so your actions will be auto-wired when testing. +1 for adding it to Spring. Rob, it's likely just to be a problem with the compile farm machines at SF bei= ng hugely overloaded as they tend to be quite often. Disk and CPU resources= are stretched beyond the limit on a lot of those machines. They can sometime= s take up to 30 minutes to complete a clean build/test run - a task that ta= kes about 2.5 minutes on my Linux box. Perhaps we can make the max allowed time configurable somewhere so that t= he scripts which run the CF builds can just write a suitable value into a pr= ops file or supply it as a JVM arg when starting the build? I tested this particular test on Windows XP and it runs in 2400 ms on my machine. Switching back to CGLIB 2.0.2 makes the test run in 2380 ms - so I guess there is no real difference. Does anyone have access to a Solaris workstation/server where they can execute this test manually? The interesting thing is that the test that is failing is inherited from CglibProxyTests and it seems to have passed on there assuming the tests are executed in order. I just committed this fix. Cglib proxies will now run happily with either Cglib 2.0.2 or 2.1. However, only 2.1 will pass all tests since this is the only version to contain a particular method required to fix the whole constructor interception issue. I've moved the Tapestry stuff over to a separate file (webintegration.xml) which has by the way changed the chapter number of the later chapters. I've left the section ids (sect1 id=3D"XXX") the same for the Tapestry section. They usually begin with the chapter identifier (in this case webintegration) but since they are used to generate URLs for the html documents (#view-tapestry e.g.) I've kept them the same. For new content in the webintegration.xml file, webintegration-xxx ids can be used... You can add the patches to the following issue, I'll keep an eye on it. http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/spring/browse/SPR-685 Regards, Alef > -----Original Message----- > From: spr...@li...=20 > [mailto:spr...@li...] > On Behalf Of Juergen Hoeller > Sent: Thursday, February 03, 2005 10:16 PM > To: spr...@li... > Subject: Re: [Springframework-developer] Documenting Web=20 > Framework Integration Options >=20 > Matt, >=20 > Thanks for volunteering :-) Indeed, there's a big gap in the=20 > web framework integration docs. I can check for the existence of the new method and if it is there, use it to fix the bug otherwise just ignore it. I can perform the check just once when the first proxy is created and then cache the results for later - it shouldn't take too long to do.
