There is a bug accessing recent CVS versions in Eclipse 2.1.2 that has been
fixed in later 3.0 milestones. I think it will be inlcuded in 2.1.3.  There is a
fix - you have to download and replace cvs.jar - see this location for more info:

I hit the same thing the other day when I tried to use a 2.1.2 version.
