I think we're close to our ultimate feature set for 1.0. I think the focus has to be on stability and quality of documentation from now. I don't think metadata attribute support is going to make 1.0, for example. I think we should aim for a relatively quick *backward compatible* 1.1 release a couple of months after 1.0. This might include: - attributes - "inner beans" as discussed in this list - a classpath-slurping automatic application context creator as an additional option I like Colin's generic factory suggestion. So long as it is implemented without major impact on existing code I would definitely like to see this in 1.0.
