[Springframework-developer] anonymous CVS access disabled?

Hi,
is it just me or is there something wrong with anonymous CVS access to 
sourceforge.net?
following the instructions on http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=73357:

cvs -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/springframework login

I get:
Logging in to 
:pserver:ano...@cv...:2401/cvsroot/springframework
CVS password: <enter>
cvs [login aborted]: unrecognized auth response from 
cvs.sourceforge.net: M PserverBackend::PserverBackend() Connect 
(Connection refused)

cvs update in a directory that I checked out earlier, maybe four weeks 
ago leads to the same error.

Any ideas?
