Yes, contribution is very welcome. Please note that this is 
definitely something for the 1.1 release, not 1.0. As Juergen 
noted, so far we haven't had much need for a stop() concept. 
Perhaps it would be a good start to formulate your 
requirements, and what enhancements the Spring lifecycle 
might need to support to address them.
