This sounds like it could be useful. I don't have time to look at the code
changes in detail right now.

Juergen, what do you think?

I do think that this change is probably best left till after the 0.8 (or
0.9?) release. As it appears to be backward compatible, we can add it later.
However, if Juergen thinks it's worth including in our imminent release, I'm
open to that.

I've just checked out your pagedlist demo (through the GUI and the code).
Very impressive: a good demo for Spring!
