Travis, I agree with Dmitriy: data access is only part of the story. Spring today includes a lot more, such as: - beans-based configuration management - JDBC abstraction - transaction management abstraction - AOP packages, which will soon offer declarative transaction-management without the need for EJB - highly modular MVC web solution - package simplifying accessing EJBs Overall there's a strong emphasis on JavaBeans and interfaces, as discussed in the book, and it aims to simplify use of J2EE. I like the colours and the 2-colour SpringFramework on the right with a shaded blue bar underneath. However, the text should change. Maybe we need a slogan: something would look good where you have "Practical Data Access" but I don't think we have suitable text yet. Maybe leave the bar unworded for now and add text later when we think of something. I like the idea of including a spring somewhere. I think the character on the left could be reworked a bit. Not sure what the blue puddle to the left of him/her is and the datastore text should probably go. I can certainly see this logo working in well with an overall site design. My original thoughts for a logo were based around spring the season--maybe based on a photo of budding trees or the like. But I badly lack graphical flair. Juergen, Yann et al: thoughts on this? Please take a look at it and give me feed back. I most of you like it I will proceed with creating the web site in the color scheme of the logo. > > To view the logo go to: > > http://www.supercodepoet.com/spring/logo_text.png > > Thanks, > -travis > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek > Welcome to geek heaven. > http://thinkgeek.com/sf > _______________________________________________ > Springframework-developer mailing list > Spr...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/springframework-developer |
