Matt,

Are you using the most recent version from CVS - I got the same error  
yesterday - it was due to a refactoring misstake in the following line  
in DefaultValidatorFactory:

private static final String ERRORS_KEY =  
"org.springframework.validation.Errors";

the ERRORS_KEY was wrong so the null pointer exception was from a  
missing error object.  I did however fix it last night and my local  
tests run fine.
