this seems to be erratic.  Some of the compile farm machines fail it,
others are passing it.

When I tried it on my machine it initially failed running the test in
Eclipse with the same error, but when stepping in with a debugger, it
passed.  After that it continued to pass when running it at full speed.

A clean build and test run under Ant outside of the IDE also passed on
my machine here (Linux 2.6.10 with Sun JDK 1.4.2.06)
