+1 to consolidate into decent forums. One of my pet peeves is that so many projects maintain both a mailing list and a forum for the same thing. This means I have to search two places in order to find an answer to a question. And, if I can't find that answer, I have to decide which place to ask (do I ask in the mail list or the forum or both?). If the mail list seems to be the better place (because it is more active), then I have to subscribe to that list. One (nice and easy to use) forum to rule them all, I say. And I agree, the current forums are difficult to use (for all the reasons you state). - Andy On Thursday 01 July 2004 07:22 am, Colin Sampaleanu wrote: > We've talked about this briefly before, but I propose that we actually > go ahead and for support purposes consolidate the existing SourceForge > forums and the user mailing list into one or more forums run using some > decent forum software (phpBB looks quite good; it's what's used by > hibernate.org). > ... |
