Les,

I've checked in the code into the sandbox: org.springframework.web.portlet.* Please note that it is almost 97% replica of the web.servlet package (class by class) I don't 
know if this would present maintenance headaches, but at this point I don't have any ideas of doing it any other ways... May be someone will have a better idea, but we 
had to make the first step!!
