Not sure if we constitute the niche or not, but I tell you that we are 
very interested in having Spring support for the Portlet API similar to 
the Spring WebMVC.  If things continue to go the way they are around 
here the portal will be the primary service delivery mechanism...meaning 
all of our Spring apps will live behind the Portlet API not the Servlet API.
