No your are entirely correct. spong-network in 2.7.3 that I put out is missing 
a good chunk of code in addition to what you found. I tried using some new 
perl scripts to convert my production spong/bin files back into src/*.pl 
files. One of them has a small bug in it.

I have withdrawn the Spong 2.7.3 release for now. I will reactive it one I get 
a fixed distribution file built.
