1) The file you were loading
2) The exact sequence of steps you performed

I have the same problem. The file is part of a course and I'm not sure I'm allowed to share it. It's quite large, 6.3 kB and the problem happens when I start changing tabs for spaces in the intendation. The file currently has a mix of tabs and spaces.
I'm using qtspim 9.20.1-2 from the Arch linux repository on a Manjaro machine.
The problem occurs when trying to load the file after starting qtspim. Trying to start qtspim from the command line with the "-file" option causes the program to freeze before the UI is loaded (only black boxes).

Same response as above. If I don't have the file, I can't reproduce the problem, so I can't find the bug or fix it.
