Hello All, I figured out the cause of my segmentation error. It turns out that my initial grid defined by the "create_grid" command was too coarse. After refining my initial grid with "create_grid" my simulation ran just fine. I'm not sure if there's a limit on the number of particles in a cell, but my suspicion is that I had too many particles being emitted (via fix/emit surf command) into a single cell. -Bryan ________________________________ From: Woode, Bryan [US] (DS) <Bry...@ng...> Sent: Thursday, March 20, 2025 15:35 To: spa...@li... <spa...@li...> Subject: EXT :[sparta-users] Segmentation Error Encountered in Simulation Hello SPARTA Users, I am encountering the "segmentation fault" error and have not been able to troubleshoot the issue. From my log file it looks like it crashes when the run begins. For my nrho I am using the maximum number density emitted by my surface, but my background gas has a number density of ~7e16. Is the problem coming from my nrho and fnum? Any help would be much appreciated.
