I was struggling in the testing phase so much, that I wanted to 'hard code' each step so as not to introduce some other issue. I'll certainly put to use your code reduction ideas. Smaller is always better.... at least with regards to code! <BG> I do see where I'll need to keep two basic script varieties in the runfilemaint script, because I have your_spam one level below the training folders, which are all in Corrections. I did this to try to 'define' to the end user an obvious line between the training and the actual delivered spam which they should look at, at least at the start and from time to time (I'm personally finding that SpamProbe is producing less than one false positive in over 2000 of my emails and therefore I deem it more accurate than me during my ADKS (Asleep at the Delete Key Syndrone) which seems to strike about halfway through any major mail handling). I have some lockfile questions. All I can find to read on this seems to be only about what is in the man page which is not very great. I think I need to first change the lockfile creation line lockfile -s 5 -l 10 -r 2 mail_file_name.lock I received the following errors this morning after all mailboxes were processed. lockfile: Forcing lock on "/home/birdman1/IMAP/your_spam.lock" lockfile: Forcing lock on "/home/jerry/IMAP/your_spam.lock" lockfile: Forcing lock on "/home/webify/IMAP/your_spam.lock" This is 3 of the seven accounts I'm running at the moment. The others were handled properly. Also, I found that the lockfiles were NOT removed from these mailboxes. All the others were. Seems I have a force flag in the lockfile creation or some such? Ideas? Mail guru David? Also, I find it really strange, but on my server the user could create the lockfile from anywhere, but had to in the directory where the lockfile existed to be able to rm somefile.lock. What's up with this? This drove me nuts for 3 days! There obviously is a whole lot I don't know about lockfile. Note, I also moved the spamprobe cleanup command into the cron once per day script. I couldn't see processing this every 30 minutes. I would think that would take a bit of time to process? I also think I need to add Brian's database compression script into the runfilemaint script, where in essense sp_words is locked wasn't it? Copied or processed over into tmp and then moved back.. Seems it got rid of extra lines and spaces or something? Now where in the heck did I see that? So, now I'll be off to a few tweaks on the scripts and working on the 'Copy to Folder' addition for SquirrelMail and then the 'End User Setup' pages and I think this stuff will be ready for prime time. If any of you have time to test/peruse/critique/debug the progress on http://www.ew3d.com/spamprobe/spamprobeserver.html it would be welcomed. Thanks, John Hinton |
