I understand what you are saying, and that is why I called it an acceptable work around. I am just afraid that once this is implemented, developers won't implement spaceball button handling inside their application. They know the user can map the spaceball buttons to hot keys. This (IMHO) is a hack and will be the path of least resistance for application developers and will send us down the wrong road. |
