I could always open .zip files in spacefm but not for some time. I have to open doublecommander file manager then unzip the file then I go back to using spacefm!

By default, SpaceFM's Zip handler uses 'unzip' for this, which must be installed.

With 1.0.0 release, new customisable archive handlers were introduced. There haven't been any reports of problems with Zip files. If you run the first instance of SpaceFM in a terminal, then check the output there as its running, you might get a clue as to why the zip files aren't decompressing for you. If it fails it should produce an error message.

To see or edit the handler, right-click on a Zip or other archive file, and select Open|Archive Defaults|Archive Handlers. Then click the Zip handler.

I actually noticed quite a few problems with archive handling when I'm using Lilyterm. My dumb guess would be it doesn't pick up the current directory correctly, because it only complains about not being able to find files. Some other terminals had no such issues.

It appears lilyterm requires a --separate option. You can add this in Preferences for now (use "lilyterm --separate" instead of "lilyterm", and I have opened an issue so this should be added automatically in 1.0.3 and later.

Terminal emulators vary wildy in their behavior and options. SpaceFM tries to handle this, but if you notice a particular terminal not working, it's good to test it against Roxterm (what I use most often) or xterm, and report any problems.

I suspect your problem is similar to #552, which involved terminals that don't provide a --separate option at all. (Note that in some terminals, the --separate option is called something else. With most terminals, SpaceFM should add the appropriate option automatically.)
