irrKlang is pretty restrictive http://www.ambiera.com/irrklang/license.html . To comply with free software principles and operating systems' repository guidelines an alternative library should be used (for example alure). See http://freegamedev.net/wiki/Non-free_dependencies for more.

I'm dreadfully sorry, should this sound like an open source fanboy request. This request is probably only valid when a port to an open operating system exists (as a non-free library affects ease of distribution) or if developers care personally about software licenses 'that way'. :)

    I understand your worries about irrklang, but it's very easy to use. When I find a free audio lib that can handle sound this simple\, I will use it. Maybe someone writes wrapper for ALUSE?
