OK, I've gotten some aid from the pulseaudio irc chatroom but not enough to get through to the end. I was told to load the pulseaudio null module, point skype's recording input to the null monitor(?) and move sox's output stream to the null sink. How does one move sox's output stream to the pulseaudio null sink? Any ideas on this aspect?
