I have tried: sox /home/me/0/tst.wav -b 16 -r 44100 /home/me/0/tst it complains of no file found "16" it is like the -b switch has no meaning . I have sox 14.0.0 , i do not see a -b in the help.... so maybe i need 14.3.1 is that possible? i am running ubuntu -- what might you think. i tried a yum update sox .... it complained of needing some python -- so maybe i have an updating problem. Again my Goal is to convert file.wav 24 bit 96kHz to 16 bit 44.1 kHz thanks! jims David Graff wrote: > jsh...@pp... said: > >> i wish to convert some wavs that are 96kHz 24 bit file.wav to 44.1 >> kHz 16 bit file-2.wav >> >> is this possible and might someone share the command line >> > > I haven't tried this myself (since I don't have 96-KHz 24-bit data), but > this is the first thing I would try: > > sox file-96-24.wav -r 44100 -b 16 file-44-16.wav > > Some people might be picky about the shape of the anti-aliasing filter > used for downsampling, and some of them might not like the filter that > sox uses by default.
