Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: robs (robs) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: pan effect needs to be documented or removed Initial Comment: Some users can't understand how to use the pan effect (and neither can I). >From soxeffect: "This is done by changing the volume of the input channels so that it fades out on one channel and fades-in on another." --- at what rate do the fades occur? Also, from soxeffect: "If the number of input channels is different then the number of output channels then this effect tries to intelligently handle this. For instance, if the input contains 1 channel and the output contains 2 channels, then it will create the missing channel itself" --- but what does it do for other numbers of channels? And what's this got to do with panning anyway? Isn't this mixer/remix territory? Hmmm, looking at the code, there's no sign of any fading going on. Does this effect do anything useful? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=110706&aid=2037107&group_id=10706 |
