I have 3 environments - Development, Testing and production. When I check out a document from production, it is checked out into Development. When I check the document in, it needs to go into testing. After tested, it should be moved into production. My question is: Is there a way to set this up in SourceJammer? Has anyone else done this? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. |

Steve, It seems that when you try to run the conversion by itself, you're actually running the 2.0 conversion tool. The 2.1 conversion tool will start with the following: **************************************** ** SourceJammer 2.0 to 2.1 Conversion ** **************************************** When you try to upgrade using the install script, what output do you see when the conversion kicks in? I can see by looking at the code that you're not going to get a stack trace here either, but whatever error message you get, I'd like to see. I could do a quick modification to the convert script to output any error stack traces and to maybe log what it's doing, but SJ does not have any sort of nice logging features built into it. Let me know about the error you see when you install and I'll see about adding the logging. --Rob --- Steve Erickson <st...@av...> wrote: > I am attempting to upgrade my archive named "SOFTWARE" from 2.0.2 to 2.1.0. > I initially ran the install script for 2.1.0, but it output that it could > not convert my archive. I am attempting to upgrade my archive named "SOFTWARE" from 2.0.2 to 2.1.0. I initially ran the install script for 2.1.0, but it output that it could not convert my archive. I then tried running the convert script on its own and received the output: ac - C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Desktop\sourcejammer-server-2.1.0.0.gpl\Sou rceJammer2.1.0.0\scripts\conf.xml ac - C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0\webapps\sourcejammer \WEB-INF\conf\conf.xml sc - C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0\webapps\sourcejammer \WEB-INF\conf\serverconf.xml ******************************************** **SourceJammer 2.0 Archive Conversion Tool** ******************************************** Converting archive SOFTWARE. Converting Projects |!! Exception in converting SOFTWARE null skipping . . . ******************************************** **Conversion Complete ** ******************************************** Any ideas on how to tackle this? A general question is: Is there anyway I can turn on logging for the conversion process so that I can see a stack trace? Thanks, Stephen Erickson Avenity, Inc. |

Hello, Juan. Please provide more details. Is this the first time you've tried to use SJ? Have you used it before successfully and suddenly you started having this problem? Have you verified that your server is running and that you can connect to it in other was, such as using a web browser? Please provide me as many details as you can. With the little that you've told me I can't possibly tell what the problem is. --Rob --- Juan Carlos Marin Melendez <jm...@se...> wrote: > > > > > Good morning, > > Source Jammer is having trouble communicating with de server. None. Could you supply more details? What OS/servlet container is SJ running on? What version of SJ are you running, etc. Also, can you check the server logs to see if you're getting any error messages there? When you say SJ "disconnects", what exactly happens? After the user/password prompt, the system attempts to connect--you're not connected until after this dialog's done with it's business. So in what way does it disconnect? Do you get an error message in the client? Does it hang for a very long time? Does the GUI crash? Does your computer explode? More details are always helpful :-) --Rob --- it 4dmin <it...@ya...> wrote: > Hi, > > We have a server that's been running sourcejammer fine > till it was rebooted. Hi, We have a server that's been running sourcejammer fine till it was rebooted. Now nobody can connect to sourcejammer via the GUI. The server is serving pages OK. When connecting via the GUI it disconncts after the user / password promt. Any ideas? Thanks __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Just though I would let you all know. I downloaded the latest version of SJ, Tomcat 4.1.31. Running it on our IBM iSeries (formerly AS400) midrange server. Runs like a champ for the past two days. As far as comparing word documents is concerned, right now I have a vb script that compares two MS word documents. What I have to do is to copy and rename both versions and then use the vb script to compare them. Works wonderful. It would be nice to be able to specify that an external program be used. Once again, Thanks for a wonderful product. -----Original Message----- From: Robert MacGrogan [mailto:rob...@ya...] Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2005 2:10 PM To: Mangavalli, Ramanujam; 'sou...@li...' What should happen is exactly what you describe. If the network connection is broken in the middle of any single action (checking in/out a file, etc) there should be no corruption of the archive. If the server does not receive the entire "check in file" message, then the server will will not make any changes to the archive. --Rob --- Peter Vanderborght <pet...@ta...> wrote: > Hi Rob, > > Can you tell me what would happen in SJ if the link break during check-in? > > Suppose I'm checking in 3 files and the link goes down during transfer of > the 2nd file. > Given SJ doesn't perform atomic commits, I assume (hope): > - File 1 will be updated & lock released > - File 2 will be unchanged & lock in place > - File 3 will be unchanged & lock in place > > Can you please confirm this is the case? > If not -- what's does happen? Rob, Thanks for your reply. I couldn't solve this problem, so I started using Tomcat instead of JBoss for the time being. But eventually I would like = to use JBoss. No! He's returning to the enemy! Well, so long as it's not an M$ product :-) Nothing so organized as a WSDL. Your best bet would be to look at the deployment descriptors in the resources/common/deploy directory in the SJ server source. For additional documentation, I'm afraid I'm going to have to refer you to the code (which I will freely admit could be better documented). --Rob --- "Petrovsky, Martin" <Mar...@ae...> wrote: > Gday mate, > > Is there a WSDL or XML Schema describing the SOAP interface between the client and the server > used in sourcejammer? Sriram, I'm sorry that no one on the list has responsed. I don't have any experience with JBoss, so I'm afraid I don't have anything helpful to offer. The install.bat was only tested with Tomcat, so it's no surprise that it doesn't work with some containers. Does anyone out there know anything about running SJ on JBoss? --Rob --- Sriram Kanala <sk...@za...> wrote: > I'm trying to install SourceJammer on JBoss 4.0.2. > > I used install.bat (Windows OS) and specified all the details it asked for. > > After this, I start JBoss - I get a deployment error as shown below. > > > > 10:40:43,843 WARN [JARDeployer] Failed to add deployable jar: > file:/C:/jboss-4. > > 0.2/server/default/tmp/deploy/tmp48722file.jsp > > java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file > > at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method) > > at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(ZipFile.java:204) > > at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:132) > > at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:70).. > > > > This type of exception is shown for number of .jsp, .gif ..files. > > > > And in the end, it shows the following: > > --- Packages waiting for a deployer --- > > org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@9ce9109e { > url=file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d > > efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/conf.xml } > > deployer: null > > status: null > > state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER > > watch: > file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/co > > nf.xml > > altDD: null > > lastDeployed: 1124001643453 > > lastModified: 1124001643453 > > mbeans: > > > > org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@7f2fd461 { > url=file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d > > efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/serverconf.xml } > > deployer: null > > status: null > > state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER > > watch: > file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/se > > rverconf.xml > > altDD: null > > lastDeployed: 1124001643468 > > lastModified: 1124001643453 > > mbeans: > > > > org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@e16c6e83 { > url=file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d > > efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/web.xml } > > deployer: null > > status: null > > state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER > > watch: > file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/web.xml > > > > altDD: null > > lastDeployed: 1124001643562 > > lastModified: 1124001643562 > > mbeans: > > > > org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@d5a9475b { > url=file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d > > efault/deploy/sourcejammer/soap/WEB-INF/web.xml } > > deployer: null > > status: null > > state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER > > watch: > file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/soap/WEB-INF/we > > b.xml > > altDD: null > > lastDeployed: 1124001667546 > > lastModified: 1124001667531 > > mbeans: > > > > --- Incompletely deployed packages --- > > org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@9ce9109e { > url=file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d > > efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/conf.xml } > > deployer: null > > status: null > > state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER > > watch: > file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/co > > nf.xml > > altDD: null > > lastDeployed: 1124001643453 > > lastModified: 1124001643453 > > mbeans: > > > > org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@7f2fd461 { > url=file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d > > efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/serverconf.xml } > > deployer: null > > status: null > > state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER > > watch: > file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/se > > rverconf.xml > > altDD: null > > lastDeployed: 1124001643468 > > lastModified: 1124001643453 > > mbeans: > > > > org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@e16c6e83 { > url=file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d > > efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/web.xml } > > deployer: null > > status: null > > state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER > > watch: > file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/web.xml > > > > altDD: null > > lastDeployed: 1124001643562 > > lastModified: 1124001643562 > > mbeans: > > > > org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@d5a9475b { > url=file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d > > efault/deploy/sourcejammer/soap/WEB-INF/web.xml } > > deployer: null > > status: null > > state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER > > watch: > file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/soap/WEB-INF/we > > b.xml > > altDD: null > > lastDeployed: 1124001667546 > > lastModified: 1124001667531 > > mbeans: > > > > > > > > Then I deleted "sourcejammer" folder in jboss default deployment directory, > copied "sourcejammer.war" and restarted jboss. Hi, Akshay, SSH will work on a Windows server. If you don't control the server, then SSH would have to be a service offered by the public server, or you would have to persuade them to add it. A *nix box usually comes with SSH. You just have to configure it and activate it. It's more work and may cost money for a Windows server. Winddows clients vary between free (e.g. PuTTY) and for-pay. SSH works on Windows as well as *nix. My configuration is a Linux server with Windows clients. I use the free SSH client called PuTTY. Setting it all up was quite a bit of working since there was a dearth of information at the time (early 2002). There was little information of the Internet. The O'Reilly book on subject (SSH, The Secure Shell) helped a lot with the concepts but it took a lot of trial and error to set it up. Hopefully the situation is a lot more friendly these days. But once you set it up it works great. The Windows clients can access the SJ archives securely over the public Internet. We also access our POP email through the SSH tunnel instead of exposing port 110. We also have several web-based applications (SJ being one of them) that also get tunnelled through SSH so that we don't have to expose port 80 either. I'm trying to install SourceJammer on JBoss 4.0.2. I used install.bat (Windows OS) and specified all the details it asked = for. After this, I start JBoss - I get a deployment error as shown below. =20 10:40:43,843 WARN [JARDeployer] Failed to add deployable jar: file:/C:/jboss-4. 0.2/server/default/tmp/deploy/tmp48722file.jsp java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method) at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(ZipFile.java:204) at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:132) at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:70).. =20 This type of exception is shown for number of .jsp, .gif ..files. =20 And in the end, it shows the following: --- Packages waiting for a deployer --- org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@9ce9109e { url=3Dfile:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/conf.xml } deployer: null status: null state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER watch: file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/co nf.xml altDD: null lastDeployed: 1124001643453 lastModified: 1124001643453 mbeans: =20 org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@7f2fd461 { url=3Dfile:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/serverconf.xml } deployer: null status: null state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER watch: file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/se rverconf.xml altDD: null lastDeployed: 1124001643468 lastModified: 1124001643453 mbeans: =20 org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@e16c6e83 { url=3Dfile:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/web.xml } deployer: null status: null state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER watch: file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/web.xml =20 altDD: null lastDeployed: 1124001643562 lastModified: 1124001643562 mbeans: =20 org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@d5a9475b { url=3Dfile:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d efault/deploy/sourcejammer/soap/WEB-INF/web.xml } deployer: null status: null state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER watch: file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/soap/WEB-INF/we b.xml altDD: null lastDeployed: 1124001667546 lastModified: 1124001667531 mbeans: =20 --- Incompletely deployed packages --- org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@9ce9109e { url=3Dfile:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/conf.xml } deployer: null status: null state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER watch: file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/co nf.xml altDD: null lastDeployed: 1124001643453 lastModified: 1124001643453 mbeans: =20 org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@7f2fd461 { url=3Dfile:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/serverconf.xml } deployer: null status: null state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER watch: file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/conf/se rverconf.xml altDD: null lastDeployed: 1124001643468 lastModified: 1124001643453 mbeans: =20 org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@e16c6e83 { url=3Dfile:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d efault/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/web.xml } deployer: null status: null state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER watch: file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/WEB-INF/web.xml =20 altDD: null lastDeployed: 1124001643562 lastModified: 1124001643562 mbeans: =20 org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentInfo@d5a9475b { url=3Dfile:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/d efault/deploy/sourcejammer/soap/WEB-INF/web.xml } deployer: null status: null state: INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER watch: file:/C:/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/deploy/sourcejammer/soap/WEB-INF/we b.xml altDD: null lastDeployed: 1124001667546 lastModified: 1124001667531 mbeans: =20 =20 =20 Then I deleted "sourcejammer" folder in jboss default deployment = directory, copied "sourcejammer.war" and restarted jboss. So, I would like to get = the deployment working by using install.bat.=20 =20 I tried changing conf.xml of SourceJammer, but it didn't help. =20 Has any one faced this problem before? Kindly suggest any solution. =20 Regards, Sriram =20 |
