As far as wikipedia is concerned, all texts there must be covered by the creative commons license (unless the poster there ignored another license or copyright). I would quite often not like to have that just copied. Many texts there are too long, written with a different emphasis, or for a different audience, quite often more "mathematically" than is appropriate for us. At least for some mathematical concepts, I have seen some texts there so cluttered with summation and integral and other mathematical symbols that sometimes even I have difficulties understanding them. As a (sorry, german) example for what I don't want take this FFT explanation: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schnelle_Fourier-Transformation ...much too long and too much about history and mathematics (in this case I understand it, but still it's too much). As you may have noticed, for us and our audience, I prefer a more concise and "popular science" way of writing, as this will help the average reader more. One should not need to have a master of science in theoretical mathematics to understand our wiki :-) The kind of audience that understands the deeper mathematical representation, usually will not need the explanations anyway. Those who want to get deeper into it than our wiki glossary can lead them, will find at least a starting point there that shows them what the concept generally is about. By keeping that in mind, you will surely find out if a specific wikipedia text is suitable for us or not. Is it ok to cut and paste from other wiki pages? I assume wiki content is never copywrited. Rich __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sie sind Spam leid? Yahoo!
