Hi, First, Jesse, thanks for the clock output! I still can't make Live (6.0.7) sync reliably to SL (1.6.3), though. I wonder if there is a step I'm missing. I have Live's sync set to EXT and SL's sync set to Loop 1, quantize: cycle, auto 8th. First, it appears that SL sends an MMC "start" when it begins calculating its internal tempo, so in this case the only way to get Live to start playing is to record a loop. Then Live does an interesting catch-up routine and it takes it a few beats to settle at the right tempo. This is a minor nuisance, I could have Live waiting for sync with nothing armed to play and let it settle quietly. A major nuisance is Live's tempo fluctuating audibly and rather wildly, drifting in and out of sync with the other loops, the magnitude increasing as time goes by. For reference, I slaved AU Lab to the same midi clock and watched the numbers tick in the Transport Window and they progressed far more steadily. Hm. Anything helps. Many thanks, Alex P.S. My final goal is to be able to record a loop at will and have everything synced to that from that point on. So far the only workable way I see is to leave Live synced to internal clock, record the first loop, manually type in the correct tempo in Live, start Live playback on a downbeat and switch SL sync to Jack/Host. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
