I'm afraid sofsip-cli's gstreamer media backend does no longer work
with more recent versions of gstreamer. I don't have time 
currently to update the code. :( Of course, if someone has
time to update it, patches are much welcomed!

For now I recommend using e.g. Empathy as the client on your 
laptop (also uses Sofia-SIP via telepathy-sofiasip). See
